WHAT TO EXPECT
IN THE BLUE LAGOON
The Blue Lagoon Tour will take you to one of Zanzibar’s most beautiful locations. We will take a boat out to the Blue Lagoon National Park, which is a protected area. While snorkelling, you can discover colourful reef fish and corals, as well as the ‘city of starfish’. Depending on the tides, we will stop at a sandbank, which is ideal for sunbathing with fresh fruit and snacks. Finally, we will visit a mangrove beach, where you can explore this unique ecosystem.
It’s an experience full of colour, nature and tropical flair!
Blue Lagoon Tour
The Blue Lagoon is one of Zanzibar’s most beautiful places. It is a snorkelling paradise and a great place to relax and explore the underwater world.
The following activities are planned:
Snorkelling
We will start with a snorkelling excursion in the Blue Lagoon National Park, where we will discover a variety of colourful reef fish, corals, leafy fish, mantis shrimp, octopuses, squid, pufferfish, scorpionfish, lionfish, nudibranchs, angelfish, snappers, rainbow runners, jacks and barracudas, among others.
Exploring Starfish
You also have the opportunity to visit the ‘city’ of starfish. There you can admire a multitude of colourful starfish in various colours and shapes, frolicking along the coral in the pleasantly shallow water.
Sunbathing and refreshments on the sandbank
During the trip, we will stop at the sandbank to take a break and enjoy tropical fruits, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. Whether we can visit the sandbank depends on the tide, as it may not be there on some days.
Visiting Mangrove area
Afterwards, we will spend some time at Mangrove Beach, a place where you can explore the unique mangrove trees and their habitat.
We recommend bringing the following items on this tour:
Snorkelling equipment (if available), towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, water shoes, extra clothing, and a camera or underwater camera for souvenir photos.

Transport (pick-up from your hotel on the east coast), boat, fruit, snacks, water, national park entrance fee and donation to the village community. Lunch is included in the full-day tour.
